We love it when our Michigan family comes to see us! Grammy Kerschen flew in early to have a little one on one time with the kids. While the kids were in school, we toured Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory in Boulder. After school, we explored Golden and showed off Grammy & Opa Hanou's new house and surrounding paradise.
The next day, Cathy, Michael and Layla flew in and the fun really ramped up! We hit the zoo again, and hosted the Hughes family for a big dinner.
The rest of their visit, we split the genders apart - and sent the Men to the Mountains and let the Ladies stay and explore the City. Mike has been planning a "guys only" camping trip for weeks. He had homemade fire starters, target practice, compasses and more for Jak, Michael and Everett to learn about and utilize. Uncle Ian came along for moral support and guidance as these boys shot bow and arrows, BB guns and took off trekking the mountain terrain.
Meanwhile, the ladies explored the Harvest Festival in Olde Town Arvada, enjoyed an elaborate birthday party for Lillian's friend Mya and took the train downtown to have dinner in the city.
As always, their visit was way too short! But we had beautiful weather and made some more lasting memories for these love-able cousins!
