Halloween

We visited Moore Middle School and Pomona High School for their annual Halloween events this year.  The kids collected boat loads of candy, schwag and Halloween fun.  I was room mom for Joseph's and Lillian's school parties this year, but unfortunately, I was too busy to remember to take pictures at both events. As usual, my kids change their costumes more than they change their underwear, so as you see below, they're wearing something different at every event!

More Michigan Guests!

John & Candy surprised us with a last minute visit and we enjoyed having them so much!

Legend of Sleepy Hollow

What a fun little Theater Grammy & Opa discovered.  They volunteer usher here once a month or so for the adult performances.  However, this was the first children's performance we'd ever been to.  Unfortunately, they were out of town, but Lillian, Jak and I had more fun than we imagined we would.  The audience participation is out of this world.  Lillian loved the limelight, and Jak has the best sense of humor and zest for comedy I've ever seen in a kid.  We giggled ourselves silly, even through the scary parts.

A Few Miscellaneous Pictures & Events

We've been busy; making fall crafts, testing out party games for Halloween, making slime, reading, playing with friends, eating pizza and fixing a hot water heater at Grammy & Opa's (while they were out of town!) and enjoying a Fancy Nancy Tea Party at the Golden Library.  Everyday is fun with this family!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!

Of all the home improvement projects Mike has done, this one has me the most excited (and nervous!).  I'm excited because I have wanted to re-do our fireplace since we moved in, I feel like our entry way is the first impression of our whole house and the old brick look really dated our entire house.  But I'm nervous because Mike has never laid stone, and our ceiling's so high.  The combination of those two challenges added in to the fact that this was MY idea, made me very nervous.

Well, it did turn out to be a pretty labor intensive project.  Opa's back maxed out around 2 pm.  And poor Mike was still pushing stone into the top, top part of the ceiling at 7 pm.  But we're so happy with the end result.  What a transformation!  We hired help to wrap the columns on the back porch the following weekend, just to get the pile of stone out of our garage a little quicker!  I love the new look!

Ya Ya Farms with the Crowley's

What a beautiful fall day!  We enjoyed a hayride, live band and a chuck wagon BBQ lunch with the Crowley's in Longmont today and took some pretty picture-perfect pictures too.

Girl Scouts

The girls learned a little about the benefits of yoga and meditation tonight.  Their instructor ended the session with darkness, calming music and a polished stone on each of their foreheads.  She gently massaged each of them as they laid with their eyes closed and arms at their sides.  I can't believe no one fell asleep!

Keira's Ballet Class

Keira got to bring a friend to Ballet this morning - and she chose Lillian!  These girls were so sweet to watch.  Natalie and Holden had a great time as well.  Natalie is on the move and it's a full time job keeping up with her.  Holden was perfect for the job!
