Easter Tea At Emma's

CL and Emma hosted the nicest tea party for these sweet little girls today.  They planted grass seed in fancy tea cups that we can water and nurture until it's in full bloom on Easter, they made edible birds nests and enjoyed a lovely high tea.

Joseph lost tooth #6 before bed tonight....he's looking good and ready to return to school tomorrow.

Butterfly Pavilion and Nature & Science Museum

We spent the rest of our Spring Break time visiting some of our favorite indoor places in all of Denver.  The Butterfly Pavilion and Nature & Science Museum never get old...

Spring Break 2019!

We rented a great house in Silverthorne from a St. Anne's family (another fun auction item!).  Thanks Grammie and Opa for picking up the tab so we could all crash together and enjoy some good mountain time!  Unfortunately, these cousins all ski at different resorts (and with different abilities).  But someday they'll all ski together!  Ian, Kim, Holden and Everett joined us for a night - but somehow I don't have any pictures of them!  Some highlights from the week are dying Keira and Holden's hair with a blue streak, skiing with the Crowley's, Joseph skiing 2 black diamond bump runs with an ice sculpture in his hand - WITHOUT breaking it!, swimming in the world's loudest and smallest indoor pool (and pretending it was fun!) and Casey taking the pool key home with her - causing Courtney to let Joseph break and enter into the facility so we could swim one last time (I have a 6 year old with crazy burglar skills!).

St. Patrick's Day

We aren't Irish, but who doesn't love to dress up and pretend?
We skipped the big downtown parade this year to attend the Old Town Arvada one instead.  What a pleasant experience!  We enjoyed all our favorite parts (bagpipers, Irish dancers, great people watching, friends, food & beer)! But we avoided parking and transportation struggles and huge annoying crowds!

Casey and Rob had a fundraiser at Keira's school so both girls slept over - Natalie's 1st sleepover!  Check out the awesome matching PJ's Casey bought Keira and Lillian - Natalie would be jealous if she had any interest in taking off her favorite Elsa dress EVER.  At bed time, Natalie said she wanted to sleep on the floor with Lillian and Keira.  I talked to her about "what to do if you happen to wake up over night".  She said, "I'll wake up Lillian!", I said no Natalie, if it's dark out, roll over and go back to bed.  If it's light out you can come wake me, but please let Keira and Lillian sleep, ok?  She said "Ok Aunt Courtney!".  Then I said, ok, what are you going to do if you wake up?  And she smiled and said "Wake up Lillian!".  Oh jeez.....
But miraculously, she slept all night, let the girls rest peacefully and kept on sleeping even after they woke up (and played loudly in the loft right outside her door).  Natalie slept a record 12 hours straight!!!!

Fun Out of Uniform Day!

The kids got to dress up in the brightest colors they could find....they were even allowed to die there hair.  You should have seen the colorful display across the gymnasium today!

Lillian is Famous!

Lillian and her friend Gianna are featured in the Spring activity catalog for APEX Parks & Recreation!  Look at those balance beam skills!  Mrs. Frerich had the girls reenact the photo on the blacktop at recess - the whole 2nd class is taking about these girls!

March Birthday Dinner

We hosted a relaxing family dinner in honor of Keira and Holden tonight.  The kids played dress up, opened a few gifts and took a soak in the hot tub. We're ready for spring!

Grandpa & Deni Come to Visit!

Grandpa has always been fascinated with the Frozen Dead Guy Days festival in Nederland and now that he's a retired man - he finally made the trip.  Clearly his visit meant a lot to the kids, look at the tag line Lillian put on his photo below...
We visited the Colorado History Museum and learned so much about our great state. The kids loved testing out the virtual reality ski jump (designed to make you feel like you're at the Olympic training facility in Steamboat Springs).

Keira celebrated her 6th birthday at Skate City while Grandpa was here.  The kids opted to skip the Frozen Dead Guy festivities and skate their hearts out with Keira, her friends and our cousins.

But Mike and Grandpa had a great time checking out the coffin races, polar plunge events and a whole lot more.  Here they are pictured with a real life Bald Eagle.
Grandpa's visits are always too short but we love that he makes the effort to come see us and check out our day to day routine.  See you this summer at the Lake!

Girl Scouts & Daddy / Daughter Dinner

Lillian got to make her own lunch with her Girl Scout Troop at Pizzeria Locale in the Highlands today.  While she cooked up a storm with the girls, Mike took Joseph to work, because it's Saturday and a relatively slow day, Mike took them up the skiff to the roof of the building.  Pretty cool views from the top of a high rise near downtown Denver and Mile High Stadium!

Later we all headed to Golden and visited the Da Vinci exhibit at the School of Mines library.  The kids got a kick out of using the interactive machines he invented over 500 years ago!

Later Opa, Rob, Ian and Mike took Natalie, Keira, Holden and Lillian to Daddy - Daughter dinner & hayride event.  I think Lillian was the most excited....she loves to dress up and loves to have Daddy all to herself!
