Last Week of School = Fun!

Thank goodness - Lillian is out of uniform for the rest of the year.  Joseph's last day of school was last Thursday, and poor Lillian has a few more days.  But at least the end of the school year is filled with fun activities; projects with her buddy Sara Marriott, Field Day and matching dresses with Lorrissa will help get her to the "finish line"!

With summer upon us, I was able to convince Lillian to chop a couple of inches off her hair and start the swim season fresh.  The kids both got new do's!

The Golden Walking Club

We joined Grammy & Opa for their weekly walking club today.  I wasn't sure if Joseph could keep up but he did great.  It helped there was a 7 year old girl there with her grandma.  She instantly took to Joseph and oddly they interacted just like Lillian and Joseph do...it was almost like having Lillian with us!

Memorial Day Fun

Everyone's out of school except poor Lillian, so we sprung her from school for a quick lunch break to Fuzzy's Tacos.  On Monday, we hosted the family for a Memorial Day BBQ in the backyard, so these cousins got some good quality time in together!

Joseph and Jack not only have the same shirt, but they both happened to wear it on the same day.

Homemade Mother's Day Gifts

Mike built the coolest birdhouses and the kids went to town painting them today.   They are going to look so good on the back fence!

Spaghetti Dinner at the Rondinelli's

The Rondinelli's donated a spaghetti dinner for the St. Anne's Auction, the Kelley's bought dinner for 20 guests and so did another family.  Nicki and Shaun opted to cook one big dinner for 40 instead of hosting two separate evenings....and what a fun night we had!  First of all, Shaun cooked a heck of a lot more than just spaghetti and Nicki transformed her living room into a venue fit for a wedding.  We had such a nice night mingling with St. Anne's families that we know and some we just met.

Field Day for Joseph

Weber had some pretty creative games at their field day today.  Yup, that's a picture of Joseph carrying a plunger while balancing a ball on it.  The kids loved the popsicles, teacher dunk tank and bouncy houses best of all.

Little Flowers Tea Party

Every spring the Little Flowers group wraps up their year with a Tea Party for all family members.  They sang their precious songs to us and we enjoyed a smorgasbord of delicious treats.  But the best part was I got to make Kay's famous cucumber sandwiches again (and they were a hit of course!)!

Beautiful Lilacs!

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a family photo in front of these gorgeous blossoms...we just happened to be eating birthday dinner on the deck and felt inspired!

Lillian!

This young lady turned 7 today!  I took Joseph out of school early and brought lunch to St. Anne's so we could eat together.  I think it meant more to Joseph than Lil - he looks pretty excited to be there.  She had a great day donning the birthday hat with her name on it and receiving all sorts of special treatment!
The weather was perfect so we played outside all afternoon/evening.  Somehow these three boys all parked themselves on our rock for an applesauce break and we were able to snap this cute photo.  Which is good because a few short hours later Joseph's head looked like the picture below; after he attempted to jump off the back yard swing and catapulted head first into the concrete patio.  At least Lillian's birthday didn't end with a trip to the ER!

Golden Rocket Winner!

Lillian is the Golden Rocket for April!  She has waited so patiently for this honor (and the Free Chick Fil-A meal and stuffed cow)!
Miss Weasler described her as follows:
She is perfectly Lillian - the sweet, kind girl God made her to be.  She is helpful and a friend to all.  She has beautiful handwriting and a great work ethic.  She has a sensitive heart, she sees the needs of others and tries to meet them in her kind, gentle and humble way.

A Fun Day Off

These girls didn't have school today, so we dropped Jak off at Weber and headed to the Nature & Science Museum to explore.  Much like when I took Joseph and Marcus here a few weeks ago, I just sat back and watched the girls explore, giggle and create.  They had a blast.

We left in time to pick Jak up from school and headed to the pool, yup the pool!  They resurfaced the bottom of the pool and in order for it to "cure" they had to fill it. And to fill it they had to heat it and so.....they opened early!  And they picked the best weekend to do so.  It is a warm May so far!
