Why Not Get 2 More?

We are Kayak obsessed and proud of it!  Mike sent me to Sportsman's Warehouse with the kids today to buy them each their own boat.  I think their faces say it all...

Kayakin'

The Kerschen's now have his & her kayaks!  Or his and theirs, since the kids quickly discovered that all 3 of us can fit on the blue kayak together.  As we were out tooling around on the Pond, our neighbor's the Little's texted and invited us down to their house for an impromptu bonfire.  Mike walked along the path to their house and the kids and I rowed right over.  It was a great spontaneous night with friends!

Buffalo Bill Days

Buffalo Bill has been dead for 100 years now, but the city of Golden loves to celebrate his life still!  We had a great time watching the parade today with Grammy & Opa.

Soccer Camp

The Lutheran Church on 88th by our house offers a free 3 day soccer camp.  I took a shot signing the kids up (I was a little nervous after my disastrous fire fighter camp!).  But the kids had a blast!  We lucked out, the weather was in the low 80's all 3 days, which is very cool for Colorado in July.  It took Lillian a little while to warm up to the group, but once she recognized Ben, a teenage volunteer who we have seen at our pool a time or two this summer, she was all smiles.
The camp separated the kids by age and focused on ball handling skills and basic shots on goal.  They provided snacks, a short bible study and craft project.  They even let Graceyn join in for the final day of camp and she loved it too!

Wacky Wednesday

We enjoyed mixing some concoctions at the Standley Lake Library today.  We made slime, lava, and a whole lot of other really messy science experiments.

A Hidden Gem

What a great water park!  We discovered The Splash water park in Golden with Grammy today.  It was like going on a beach vacation right here in Colorado.  Sand, water, splash pads, water slides, and the ever popular giant bucket that drops water on your head every 5 minutes!

Summer Daze

Joseph's swim lessons have really paid of this summer.  He's jumping in the deep end and retrieving toys 9 feet deep!  He still looks like a drowning puppy dog when he swims out to the center of the pool, alarming everyone around, but he's determined to do it without help.  Fortunately, the life guards know the Kerschen Family well by now.  Kaley and Erin jump in the pool and swim with Lillian and Jak during their breaks, providing extra encouragement and free mini-lessons.  When we aren't swimming, we're crafting at home, gardening and occasionally we even work on some school work to keep the concepts from getting dusty!

Georgetown Loop

Riding the Georgetown Loop with these kids was so much fun!  I've ridden it before with the residents from work, but seeing it through the eyes of a (almost) 5 and 6 year old was priceless.
