Teacher In-Service Day at St. Anne's

The faculty needed a day to meet so Lillian has a day off already.  Casey is still on maternity leave for a couple more weeks, and Erica Wright is in between jobs, so we had a nice girls lunch out at the Lowry Tavern.

The little girls were so photogenic and cute that it never occurred to me to take a picture of myself, Casey and Erica!  Such is life...

Majestic View Campfire Series

The evenings are getting darker, but we still enjoyed the latest Campfire Chat at Majestic View the other night.  This quarters topic....SHARKS!
A rather peculiar topic considering we live in Colorado - a land locked state!  Once upon a time, Colorado was part ocean, and there is evidence that sharks did live here.  The kids really liked learning that fun fact.  But mostly they just liked having a picnic dinner and touching the shark teeth!

Final Weekend in Vail

The Gore Creek campground is closing for the season...boo hoo!  We have enjoyed our weekends in Vail this month.  And Mike's project isn't finished so it would be nice if we could keep coming up to Vail with him, but there's no denying the weather up here is changing!
Their faces say it all!

Much happier in the camper waiting for the sun to warm things up a bit!

Our neighbors from the Pond joined us at the campground this weekend.  Joseph is smack dab in the middle of Teddy & Elliott age-wise.  Teddy is 4 1/2, Joseph is 4 and Elliott is 3 1/2.

It was fun to share our explorer - knowledge with them!

By the afternoon we were able to take a nice hike.

The scenery was breathtaking, but what I'll remember most from this weekend was that Lillian and Joseph wanted to keep on hiking.  I had to MAKE them turn around.  And it's a good thing I did because they began to crap out when we were still 30 minutes from our campground.  Someday they'll realize you have to turn around before you get tired, cause your little legs still have to get you home! They're combined weight is 80 pounds these days....Momma can't carry them both anymore!

A Worrisome Weekend!

Poor little Natalie came down with a mystery bug that had us all worried for about 24 hours.  Thank god Casey acted quickly and got her into the doctor right away, who sent them to Children's hospital right away.  Rob was out of town for work, and although he switched his flight, he wasn't going to be able to get to the hospital until 9:30/10 o'clock Friday night.  So I picked up Keira from daycare and brought her back to our house for the evening.  After dinner, Casey was still in the hospital awaiting test results, so Mike put all three kiddos to bed and I drove over to be with her and Natalie.  Poor Natalie had an IV in her head and had to have a spinal tap. She had a case of Salmonella - which we presume she picked up on their recent family vacation to North Carolina.  Salmonella was good news, it could have been much worse.  They caught it in time, and were able to give her IV antibiotics through the weekend, and she will not have any lasting issues.
But the best news is, we got to keep Keira for the whole weekend.  It was an emotionally exhausting weekend for Rob, Casey & Natalie, but Keira, Lillian and Joseph had a blast.
I took all three kiddos to the Alzheimer's Memory Walk at City Park. We got a LOT of attention, free schwag, free food and treats, and face painting!

Keira was not interested in having her picture taken with the tooth fairy, but Lillian and Joseph were thrilled.

"Crazy Bronco Fans" - again Keira was not too sure about these people!

My three favorite Market-eers!

I love these kids!

After the walk, we popped in on Daddy At work.  Keira lives close to Uncle Mike's construction site and has been anxious to check it out.  Uncle Mike / Daddy gave us the full blown tour!

It was a super fun morning.

On Sunday, we crafted, played and had a few friends over to watch some afternoon football.  And finally it was time for sweet Natalie (and her parents) to come home from the hospital.

We missed Keira but we were happy to have our "football" watching friends the Jacksons over again!

They're the cutest little cheerleaders I ever saw.

Picture Day!

Today was Lillian's picture day at school.  And, because she was the special person this week, and got to bring home Rocket, her classmates all took the time to say something nice about Lillian.  She's only been at St. Anne's for a couple of weeks now, but she is making great friendships!  Joseph and I sat in on the class discussion about what a good person Lillian is.  And we Face-timed with Daddy so he could be there too!
