How lucky am I to have a friend who works at Channel 7?! Mary Beth invited us down to see her at work, and watch a live news broadcast in session. We discussed how important it was to be super quiet during the broadcasting and tiptoed into the studio. To our surprise, the film crew boisterously welcomed us and the newscasters invited us in to sit at their desk. The editor said, "we're live in 60 seconds" and I panicked, trying to shoo the kids out of there. But the newscasters chatted and encouraged the kids to stay and hang out for what felt like 58 seconds. All of the sudden, they were back on the air live, and they didn't miss a beat. We sat right there in the room with them as they reported the news, live, right before our eyes!
We met Theresa Marchetta, Shannon Ogden and Mike Nelson (my hair twin!). Thanks Mary Beth for the cool experience!
