CFC Company Picnic at Heritage Square

We had the best time at Mike's company picnic last weekend!  This was our first visit to Heritage Square, the kids were the perfect ages and heights for this small amusement park....and the best part was there were minimal lines!

Zoo & Another Lunch with Dad

Aunt Casey has the week off from work!  We loved being at the zoo together during the week (without the usual weekend crowds).

After the zoo...we headed out to Stapleton to enjoy another lunch with Daddy.  Something we're trying to make a weekly tradition.  This time we had a beautiful Monarch visit us, and she stayed for a long time!

An Awesome 4th!

I can't say it enough!  We love having mom and dad living so close.  Every holiday becomes a family event and it's so nice and relaxed.  The cousins love to play with each other, there's so much to do and see in Golden and we always have a ton of food!

Golden had a free festival with something for everyone; live music, beer, food, and an abundance of bouncy castles. Parking was a nightmare, we watched people drive around searching for a spot - we are so lucky Mom and Dad live within walking distance to every fun event Golden has to offer!
Then in the afternoon, everyone BBQ'ed at our house including the Jackson family.

Someday Natalie Will Appreciate This...

Who am I kidding?  Natalie will hate me for saving this picture in our family blog.  But Casey & I love her many chins....

Uncle Zane Arrives!

The kids were so excited to have "Uncle" Zane and their psuedo cousins Inzo and Netta come visit. We had everything figured out; what to pack, what to eat, who was going to sleep where, etc.  Fellow campers will understand this:  We spend hours and hours prepping and planning to get away and feel relaxed, only to come home to twice as much laundry and clean up!   But in the end we always say, it was worth it.  This time however, we are laughing at ourselves.  Us adults, all seemed to overlook the fact that Inzo and Netta are sea level kids now and not used to altitude or twisty mountain roads.  Poor Inzo puked the whole drive up to Meadow Creek Reservoir and couldn't stop once we got there.  We tried everything we could think of; motion sickness pills (which they carry an abundance of in the small town of Tabernash!), Gatorade, water and rest.  Inzo would rally for a bit, crave some food and then get sick again!  He even took a hike with us at one point.  Finally around 5 pm, we decided enough was enough.  We had to get that poor kid back down to the Mile High City.  And sure enough, his coloring came back and he enjoyed the rest of the weekend.  Next time the Michalko's visit, we'll organize a day trip and save ourselves tons of packing!
