The kids were so excited to have "Uncle" Zane and their psuedo cousins Inzo and Netta come visit. We had everything figured out; what to pack, what to eat, who was going to sleep where, etc. Fellow campers will understand this: We spend hours and hours prepping and planning to get away and feel relaxed, only to come home to twice as much laundry and clean up! But in the end we always say, it was worth it. This time however, we are laughing at ourselves. Us adults, all seemed to overlook the fact that Inzo and Netta are sea level kids now and not used to altitude or twisty mountain roads. Poor Inzo puked the whole drive up to Meadow Creek Reservoir and couldn't stop once we got there. We tried everything we could think of; motion sickness pills (which they carry an abundance of in the small town of Tabernash!), Gatorade, water and rest. Inzo would rally for a bit, crave some food and then get sick again! He even took a hike with us at one point. Finally around 5 pm, we decided enough was enough. We had to get that poor kid back down to the Mile High City. And sure enough, his coloring came back and he enjoyed the rest of the weekend. Next time the Michalko's visit, we'll organize a day trip and save ourselves tons of packing!
