It was a double party kind of day. First, we took the kids to the Butterfly Pavilion for Reni's 5th birthday, then we hustled into the van and raced down Wadsworth to Skate City for Grant's 5th birthday party. Joseph had a great time with his buddies, Lillian learned that Roller Skating is challenging, but fun and Grammy and I are exhausted! But we can't complain, because while we were learning miscellaneous facts about various bugs, lacing roller skates, encouraging kids to get out there and try again and escorting some slippery feet to the bathroom; Daddy and Opa were home building the kids a backyard fort. What a surprise they came home to!
"The Bug Master"
Holding Rosie again!
Joseph was happy using his roller skates on the carpet where it wasn't as slippery. Lillian on the otherhand, had to give it a try. Roller skating was harder than she imagined, but she worked hard and was really getting the hang of it by the end of the party. She even joined the "Hokey Pokey" and didn't land on her bum!
That's one good lookin' fort! It's going to be a great summer!
And with daddy's wood pile cleared out of the way, it's time to get the vegetable garden planted. The kids eagerly helped me prep the soil and helped choose what seeds we'll plant.
