"Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them, but you know they are there."
What a wonderful (brief) reunion the four of us ladies just had! Kristen found time in her busy life to leave her husband and 2 and 5 year old sons at home in Arizona to fly out to Denver for a 48 hour get-a-way. Allison hosted a lovely evening, we enjoyed sushi, wine and a home made Shrimp Thai dish that Emily whipped up (even though it was her weekend to work!). Allison and Kristen baked a delicious - but flawed - s'more cake and we chatted about old times, caught up on some recent events, relived some Sex And the City episodes and "camped" in Allison and Stu's camper right in the backyard! Allison gave us a garden and chicken coop tour that left me missing our old birds at Meade Street (and left Mike with a future chore of building us a new coop for our backyard on Johnson Street!).
At some point in the conversation, Emily and I realized that Kristen only lived in Denver for 9 months (now 10 years ago). How could the four of us have made so many memories in just 9 months? Kristen's brief residence in Denver came at the perfect time for all four of us in our lives. But we had no idea at the time, how lasting those memories would become.
