Silverthorne Christmas Cabin 2017!

Oh the memories!  When it's all said and done - we won't remember the challenges of packing and prepping to feed 20 people for 5 days - or the challenges of trying to get some sleep all crammed together in one bedroom.  We will remember that these cousins rarely fight, find joy in the simplest of activities, work together to help each other be more successful and help their parents forget the normal stress from work and household routines back home.  What an amazing tradition Grammy & Opa have created for us!

1st Ski Lessons

Mike and I have given the kids a good solid introduction to skiing, now it's time for a little expert intervention.  Loveland has a program called the 3 Class Pass, if the kids complete 3 full day lessons in one season, they get a Season Pass to use for the remainder of the ski season.  Today was Day 1!  I was impressed, they took Lillian on the small chairlift in Loveland Valley right away, and then took her on the shuttle over to the big mountain.  I couldn't see her for most of the day, and had no idea if she was having fun or cursing me for getting her into this sport! Jak on the other hand, struggled with the big magic carpet area and was demoted down to the smaller magic carpet area.  All he needed was a run or two on the small hill to re-adjust to skiing - then he would have embraced the bigger hill like a champ.  But unfortunately, they didn't bring him back up to the big hill today.  He had a blast none the less and when we were reunited with Lillian - I was relieved to see her beaming from ear to ear.  She really enjoyed her first lesson too.  Phew...Mike and I are so excited to see them get closer to being independent skiers!

Caroling In Olde Town Arvada

These pictures don't show the true story....they look sunny and cheerful, but temperatures were frigid and our faces felt pins and needles as we ran from store to store to sing with St. Anne's this morning.  It was so nice to have Grammy, Uncle Severin, Aunt Colleen, and cousin Carolyn to join us and it was even nicer to enjoy a cup of Hot Chocolate in the gymnasium afterwards!

Crafts, Cookie Decorating, Symphony & Pizza

What a day!  We prepped for a craft, iced more cookies, heard the Colorado Symphony perform their Children's Concert and finished it off with pizza at home.  And we enjoyed it all with Grammy & Opa!
