Sometimes You Just Need a Morning in Your PJ's

Aunt Candy & Uncle John sent an early Christmas gift and insisted that we open it early.  I didn't have to twist the kids arms too hard.  They loved creating the animal puppets and played with them all day.

But Joseph did take a break to go out and clear the snow off the hot tub in his cowboy boots and pajamas.  Mike & I love this side of him, he gets an idea in his head and has to go do it.  He's truly happy playing alone, then easily welcomes his sister to join in his pretend world.  We finally got dressed and drove out to Golden High School to see a youth production of the Nutcracker. We're still exploring Grammy & Opa's new turf, anxiously awaiting their big move!
We weren't allowed to take any photos during the ballet.  But Lillian and Joseph climbed right up on stage after to meet a few of the ballerina's in the Nutcracker.  Joseph didn't join in on the photo op, but you can tell by Lillian's stance that she was thrilled to be welcomed in their huddle!

Sick Day

Every once in a while a Pre-Kindergartner just needs a day to stay in their PJ's.  Joseph woke up sick this morning, and Mom couldn't miss work so he got to tag along.
Fiona and Joe moved a comfy chair into our office so Joseph could lounge out.  He took a break from his "easy chair" life to dance with Santa though!
We bugged out of work a little early so he could come home and rest.  He still sleeps with both hands behind his head....such an easy life for this guy so far!

Lillian's School Program

Last night we got to enjoy Joseph's Christmas Program, and today I got to bring a bus full of residents from work to see Lillian's class perform the Nativity with the most beautiful Christmas Hymns.  It gave me goose bumps to watch my Little Star perform!  She was so animated and clear - we could hear her voice over all the others.  Daddy was able to sneak away from work and enjoy her performance too.  When she saw her Daddy in the crowd she lit up!

Of course her best Christmas tune was "All I want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth!"

Joseph's School Program

Joseph's school performed their annual Christmas show at a local church last night.

He was the sweetest little Gingerbread man on that stage!  Of course, he's practiced his song at home for weeks now, belting it out and singing with pride.  But stage fright is for real man!  He just stood there and tried to smile thru his paper costume mask for the first couple of choruses.  All of the sudden, he belted out "3 Little Gingerbread Men lying on a tray". Lillian was so proud of her brother and couldn't wait to rush the stage to hug him.

Visiting The Reindeer

Murdoch's was housing a couple of Santa's Reindeer this weekend so we popped by to say hello.
We got to "make and take" a bag of reindeer food to sprinkle on the lawn Christmas Eve.

Then we zipped over to Stapleton to enjoy lunch with Daddy since he had to work this Saturday. I'd say he and the kids enjoyed our visit!

A Company Man

Being a "Company Man" has its perks.  We had a nice adult evening out last night with CFC at the Applewood Golf Course.  It was nice to meet so many of Mike's coworkers and their significant others, and as Mike says it was nice to "show me off", I think I behaved myself!
