Liv's Birthday Party

 Seems like everyone in our neighborhood has had what we calla "Covid Birthday".  Today was Liv's turn.  Her mom planned a nice pool party and packed all the kids lunch.  

Grammy & Opa still have what it takes...

Camping in Salida last weekend was such a blast!  The playground in town was open, most adults wore masks in the more congested areas and kept our distance from each other.  But Joseph had a blast playing with other little boys and Lillian talked Grammy into getting in a giant "raft" swing!  The campground had a fun tire swing but the best part of the weekend was a surprise rafting trip down the Arkansas River!  The kids loved every second of it...and they loved that our campground was within walking distance to Sonic for ice cream!

Karate Kid

 I wish Joseph would find an inner Karate obsession...the kid was built for Karate!  I'm not able to enter the actual class room so this is the best picture I could get.  

Virtual Vacation Bible School

 In an effort to engage the kids over summer vacation and keep us busy while most businesses and kid friendly activities are still shut down - I signed up for 2 Vacation Bible School groups.  Both Arvada Covenant and Storyline churches set up "to go" craft kids for a nominal fee.  The kids have had fun putting together various crafts and mini science experiments.

On a whim we bought a new camper!

 This past weekend was awesome, but we came to the inevitable conclusion that we are outgrowing our camper.  So on a whim, we "shopped" Facebook and Craigslist last night over dinner.  It turns out, a family only a few miles away was selling the perfect style camper to suit our needs.  So on a whim, we bought it today!  We are happy campers again!

Steamboat

 Mike and his buddy Sean rode the Steamboat 'Riding together apart" race last weekend.  And as always, we found time to have some awesome family adventures too!  We "tubed the Yampa" for the first time.  We drove 15 minutes into town and took a slow (4 hour!!!)  float back down to the campground.  Everyone enjoyed it for the first 2 hours, the last 2 hours not so much LOL.  But jumping off the boulders into the deep spot in the river turned into hours of fun for everyone!

A couple playdates for Lillian

 With Emma away for the month of July, and Covid concerns coming down slightly (at least if it's outdoor play!), we've encouraged Lillian to reach out to a few school friends.

Joseph's Rat Pack

 

So happy Joseph has a couple of new buddies in the neighborhood.  These 3 are goofy, happy and fun to watch play together! Oh and both Jack and Nathan's moms trust them to hop on their bike and come visit Joseph, so we have been trusting him to do the same.  Joseph has a new freedom- that he doesn't even fully understand yet!
