Joseph's Kindergarten Graduation

Such an emotional day!  I couldn't be happier with Joseph's growth and progress emotionally, mentally and spiritually this year.  He made such great friends and is SO ready for 1st Grade...but first, bring on Summer break!!!

3rd Grade Zoo Trip

Watch Them Grow!

Brenna gave Lillian a butterfly grow kit.  We've watched these tiny caterpillars grow from tiny fingernail sized insects that barely moved to fuzzy, hungry caterpillars! They cocooned themselves up and hung from the lid of the container, then we put them inside the mesh butterfly habitat and waited for about a week.  Suddenly one hatched!  And I do mean suddenly, one minute I looked to see if anything was happening and a couple minutes later Lillian looked in and saw our first butterfly! The others followed within the next couple of days.  We had an impromptu butterfly release party with the neighbors and said a quick prayer that they stay alive!  I'm afraid they won't find enough to eat since we're having such a cold, slow start to spring/summer weather.  What a terrific birthday gift!

Fairwell 8th Graders

Darn it - the 8th Grade is out of school already.  We thought today was our last day to drive Rachel & Gianna home but their parents came to get them.  Lillian and Joseph cried real tears all the way home.  They really did enjoy our loud, silly car rides home together.  Rachel & Gianna taught them so many songs and games and overall shared their 8th grade perspective of St. Anne's...we will miss them!

CFC Colfax Marathon Relay

Yeah Daddy!  Mike's been training to run a leg of the Colfax Marathon with his company for a few months now....and to his surprise they had him join their "A" team, which piled on a little more pressure!  Not only did her perform as well as they hoped, his team all ran their hardest as well.  They came in 3rd overall!  A podium finish!!!  And you know what that means....they're already talking about next year...

Fairwell First Crush

Darn it....Lillian has such a crush on Liam (next to her in the black sweatshirt below) and he's moving at the end of the school year to Kansas.  The Hagaman's threw Liam a little going away party at Western Bowl after flag football this weekend.  Emily invited us to join them "because Liam and Lillian have a thing for each other".  Which of course, led me to believe Liam must like Lillian a bit too.  Of course, at 8 years old all they did was bowl and hang out together as a group, but we had fun and got to say goodbye - outside of the classroom.  

Rylann's 5th Birthday Party

Urban Air just opened up the street from our house and Joseph and Lillian were lucky enough to be invited to Rylann's party.  What a great place - all the kids were thoroughly entertained from ages 1 and up!  Even the adult kids had fun!

Grammy Comes for a Spring Visit!

Grandma has been itching for another visit since her and Alan's visit last fall got "snowed out" and they had to leave early.  We had a nice birthday dinner for Lillian, watched Jak act like Droste, show off his skinny ribs with funny Snapchat filters and act like the curious, fun loving 6 year old he is.  We took a nature walk and heard from a neighbor that 3 Elk had somehow made their way to the Fire Truck Playground - we walked over not sure if we'd be lucky enough to see them or not.  Those elk had no intention of leaving, they were quite relaxed and happy!  We attended Sam's 4th birthday party and participated in all sorts of relay races and games.  Then we enjoyed Lillian's birthday party at the APEX Center...what a fun filled weekend!
