"Hands Dirty, Feet Wet"

With a catchy title like that, we just had to come check out the outdoor playdate at Majestic View.
Graceyn's brother is still in school this week and her summer-care hasn't started yet, so we have an extra play companion today.

After Majestic View we enjoyed a picnic lunch and some water fun at the Splash Park.  Then we came home to make a craft with our names - little caterpillars!  Pretty fun start to the summer!

Boulder Creek Festival

Grammy and Opa and I took the kids to Boulder today for the Boulder Creek Festival.  They had great interactive booths and exhibits, hoping you'll sign your kids up for karate or jousting at their facility of course.  We had a great time trying out various sports and events.  We also ponied up a few dollars for the kids to do some bouncy slides, etc.  Jak blew our mind with his "American Ninja Warrior" moves.  He lept from one squishy ball to the next with ease - and never fell off!  Lillian impressed us with her dart throwing skills by successfully popping multiple balloons with darts.  Overall, it was a good day, but festivals like that can get expensive fast!  I'm going to have to be careful, not working and taking the kids out and about can get costly!

Kindergarten Continuation

These pictures make my heart want to sing, "Don't sit under the Apple Tree with anyone else but me!".  Today it's Lillian's turn to walk across the stage for her Kindergarten Diploma.

It wasn't our intention to get Lillian a graduation present, because, well, we kind of just expected her to graduate!  But, we had bought her the mermaid tail for her birthday and chose not to give it to her then, because she had so many presents.  But the pool is opening and summer is coming, this girl needs a mermaid tail!

Lillian and her two best friends this year; Brenna on the left, Graceyn on the right.
Mrs. Navarro is just about the kindest, sweetest Catholic School Kindergarten teacher you could imagine.  The kids all love her.  Unfortunately, her husband is sick and Mrs. Navarro isn't expected to come back next year.  I'm praying she returns by the time Joseph attends St. Anne's!

The after party in the park was a huge success.  I was trying to take a picture of Lillian and a few of her friends, when all of the sudden these kids I don't even know came out of the woodwork! They all wanted their picture taken.  Someday, we'll look back and recognize all of their sweet faces...

Pre - K Graduation

Joseph was so proud to "graduate" with his buddies today.  I don't think he really understands that this is his last day at Little People Landing, but maybe he does.  Unlike his sister, change doesn't seem to bother Jak.  I've never met a kid who "goes with the flow" more than him.  Now don't get me wrong, if you don't play a game exactly the way he wants you to, or if you don't jump over cracks in the side walk - it's the end of the world!  But when it comes to transitional, life changing events, Joseph seems pre-wired to enjoy the change and welcome whatever is next to come around the bend.
This is an "end of the year donuts for breakfast" picture!

 Ready to get their diplomas!
 Almost organized
 Such excitement!
A really long story about what he wants to be when he grows up, told through pictures.

Good Deeds by the CFC Crew

Mike got some Brownie Points through his work, while helping some families at Judi's House Foundation and hopefully paving his way to the Pearly Gates a little more.  Tonight he and a few coworkers bought, cooked and served lasagna, salad and bread to some families experiencing a great loss, through Mike's connection with Brian Griese, former quarterback for the Denver Broncos and former University of Michigan grad.

Lillian's Kindergarten Journal

Lillian came home with her Kindergarten Journal today.  While we loved every entry, 2 summed up Lillian's sweet personality the best.
I love vegetables as much as you do.  But I really love carrots.  They are awesome.  Afterall, they are carrots.
I love my Mommy because she plays with me outside in the puddles.  And you give me hot chocolate. And we go back outside again.

Knitting Pod

The Knitting Pod at the Village at Lowry (headed up by my former co-worker and very good friend, Kay), knit Mike and Jak matching Broncos hats, and Lillian and I received stocking caps with a hole on top to pull our pony tail through.  It's a funny gift to receive in May, but the kids loved them so much that they insisted we wear them for dinner tonight!
