Jimmy Buffet says it best....Oh Mexico, it sounds so simple, I just got to go....
Cancun was wonderful! I took the top picture at the outdoor grill by the pool where we ate lunch most afternoons and the lower picture right off our balcony. What a sublime view!
Sea Adventure was not the ritziest resort by any means, but it was PERFECT for kids of all ages.
Jak and Lillian were able to enjoy themselves just as much as their big cousins Johnny and Layla. The resort was laid out for babies all the way to "tweeners".
We were so glad to meet up with some of our Michigan family in Cancun. And Aunt Cathy and Grammie Kerschen were thrilled to leave the miserable cold Michigan winter behind for a week!
This picture of us on the boat dock is a little blurry but it's the only shot I have of the 4 of us!
It took the cousins a couple days to really warm up to each other again, but they were inseparable by the end of the week! Lillian will be talking about this trip for a long time!
We swam 3 times a day every day!
A stranger stopped Grammie Kerschen to comment that she was really enjoying watching Mike & Lillian bond. She sure is Daddy's girl lately.
Aunt Cathy gave Lillian the prettiest French braids all week.
The kiddie pool only reached a depth of one foot, so Lillian and Jak easily roamed around.
Holding hands and getting ready to slide!
After Daddy brought Grammie, Aunt Cathy and I the first round of drinks, Lillian said "Mommy I want a cocktail". And so began a daily request! The kids loved sipping daiquiri's by the poolside. This morning, at Keira's 1st Birthday party, Lillian asked Holden if she wanted a cocktail. The adults really got a kick out of that!
The slides in the kiddie park were easy enough for Jak to climb up and slide down by himself. He only slipped and bumped his head once!
It poured down rain one afternoon, Lillian was still napping so Jak and I stepped outside. He really enjoyed watching it come down.
Great picture of Daddy, Lillian and Grammie (with her eyes wide open!!!)
The resort gave us bracelets to signify that we belonged. Layla and Lillian weren't old enough to get bracelets - so Mike bought them bracelets in the gift shop.
We had a good, good time! Mike and I have always said, there are very few places we'd want vacation at twice. There's so much of the world we'd like to see! However, if you're looking for a middle of the winter get-a-way, and you have young children, you can't beat this resort. We're already thinking it might be nice to go again when our kids are a little older and can enjoy the big slides, boats and theater shows. I hope this trip is one of Lillian's first memorable memories!
